India vs England 1st Test: Rishabh Pant tried his best to keep things going in the middle and boost the confidence of his team in the tough phase on the final day of the first Test between India and England in Leeds on Tuesday.

Pant was at his hilarious best yet again, as he kept chirping behind the wickets and urging Mohammed Siraj to quickly bowl his over to sneak in an extra one ahead of lunch. The Indian bowlers worked very hard but couldn't get any success in the first session while defending their 371-run target.

Apart from ace pacer Jasprit Bumrah, the other Indian pacers, Mohammed Siraj, Prasidh Krishna and Shardul Thakur, were erratic and gave enough freebies for England batters, who were more than happy to oblige. But Pant kept his cool and was at his funny best.

"Yes boys, 1 minute mein 3 ball daal sakta hai kya? 2 to daal bhi di abhi. Chalo chalo chalo (Can you bowl three deliveries in a minute? You just bowled two. Come on)," Pant asked Mohammed Siraj, who had a grin on his face.

"Boom bhai ka 1 aur over. Mahaul banayenge. Ek aa jaayega. Khulega to aayega (Let’s get Bumrah to bowl one more over. Let’s create the atmosphere. We can sneak in another over)," Pant added. Watch the video here:

India got the first success of the day in the second session when Prasidh Krishna provided the much-needed breakthrough. He dismissed Zak Crawley for 65 runs in the 43rd over and made it two a few overs later with the wicket of Ollie Pope (8).

While England seemed to be running away in the run chase, Shardul Thakur stepped up late in the second session, dismissing the centurion Ben Duckett (149) and Harry Brook (0) in the same over. England ended the second session on 269/4 and now need just 102 runs to win, whereas the visitors are six wickets away from pulling off a miracle in Headingley.
