India vs Pakistan, Asia Cup 2025: Ever since Pakistan got another proper thrashing from India in the Asia Cup 2025, their fans and former players have been unable to contain their frustration, fueling continuous attacks against the Indian Team. Former Pakistan all-rounder Shahid Afridi, who consistently vents out his frustration on Pakistan TV channels, claims that 3rd umpire deliberately gave Fakhar Zaman out following their bias towards India.

It all happened during the India vs Pakistan match, where Fakhar edged one to the wicketkeeper Sanju Samson as the latter took a low catch with the ball dying on him. To authenticate, the on-field umpires sent it upstairs for a referral. The third umpire labelled it a clean catch and Fakhar had to depart for 15.

However, the decision left Fakhar unhappy as he walked off the field, throwing profanities around. Pakistan captain Salman Agha expressed the same sentiment during the post-match press conference.

“Unhone IPL me bhi toh umpiring karni hai [He has to umpire in the IPL too]," Afridi said with a cheeky grin while analysing Pakistan’s defeat on Samaa TV.

Mohammad Yusuf, who was sitting alongside Afridi, claimed that the umpires took the decision hastily.

“They didn’t even check many angles. Fakhar had hit three fours and was dealing with Bumrah with ease in the first over. His wicket was crucial for India," Yusuf said.

Umpires Can Make Mistakes: Salman Agha

In the post-match presser, Salman stated that he felt that the ball had appeared to have touched the ground.

“Umpires can make mistakes. But it did look like it bounced ahead of the keeper to me. I might be wrong. The way (Fakhar) was batting, if he had batted through the power play, we would probably have scored 190," Salman said.

Courtesy of a half-century by Sahibzada Farhan, Pakistan posted 171/5 after 20 overs. India's responded by completing the chase in 18.5 overs with Abhishek Sharma being 'player of the match' with 74(39).
