IND vs SA 1st Test: India's star batter KL Rahul has solidified his position as India's new Mr Dependable with his versatility in various batting roles over the years. Starting as an opener, he has seamlessly transitioned to the middle order and is currently showing his class in the lower middle order.
During the Boxing Day test match, the challenging Centurion wicket posed difficulties for many batters grappling with swinging deliveries. However, Rahul stood out, scoring an impressive 70 runs before stumps. It's worth mentioning that in the last test at SuperSport Park, Rahul scored a century with a score of 123 runs.
India's batting coach, Vikram Rathour, was all praise for Rahul as he once again among the top scoring batters.
"Rahul is turning out to be man of crisis for us. Every time, there are tough situations, he is the guy who handles it well for us. Nothing special, he was clear with his game plans, defended the right balls, attacked the right ones," PTI quoted Rathour as saying.

Rathour pointed out that the overnight rain, drop in temperature, and the pitch being under cover for one-and-a-half days increased the difficulty for the batters.
"It was always going to be challenging. The weather was an issue. The wicket was under cover for a day or more than that. It was always going to be challenging as a batting group. We would have loved to have a couple more wickets in hand. But we have done reasonably well," India's batting coach said.
"Post lunch, Rabada bowled an exceptional spell. We have to try and add as many runs as possible, but as we have seen historically, this wicket deteriorates," he reasoned.

Day 2 of the match again started after a slight delay due to a drizzle. As of the last update, KL Rahul was batting at 95, and he scored a two sixes off Rabada over the third man and square leg region. India will be looking to reach a total of around 250 to post a challenging first innings total.
