India vs South Africa: Shubman Gill's participation in the second Test between India and South Africa is still under question as the Indian captain was spotted at the Kolkata airport on Wednesday, for boarding a flight to Guwahati. However, as per a report by RevSportz, Gill opted against travelling in the Team bus as he was accompanied by the team physio in a separate vehicle while reaching the airport.

Also, a video of Gill wearing a 'neck support' at the Kolkata airport went viral on social media. In the video, fans can be heard taking Gill's name. Check out the video here:

BCCI (Board of Cricket Control in India) stated that Gill sustained a neck injury on Day 2 of the first Test against South Africa in Kolkata. Gill faced just three deliveries before walking off the field. There were reports that Gill might not travel with the team, but BCCI laid all speculations to rest, asserting that the skipper is showing positive progress with his treatment and will accompany the team to Guwahati.

However, BCCI also stated that his participation in the Guwahati Test will be made based on their evaluation.

“Shubman Gill. Team India captain Shubman Gill suffered a neck injury on Day 2 of the Kolkata Test against South Africa and was taken to the hospital for examination after the end of the day’s play. He was kept under observation and discharged the next day," the statement read.

“Shubman has been responding well to the medical treatment provided and will travel to Guwahati with the team on 19th November, 2025. He will continue to be monitored by the BCCI medical team, and a decision on his participation in the 2nd Test will be taken accordingly," it added.

India felt the absence of Gill from the second innings as India failed to chase down a meagre 124 runs. South Africa, on the other hand, earned a well-fought victory by 30 runs.
