The sight of the RCB batter and the ex-KKR mentor sent shockwaves across the internet as the two fiery personalities came together again as a part of the same squad.

While Gambhir recently had a complete 3-0 whitewash in the T20I series, his first assignment as India's head coach, Kohli joined the Indian camp for the ODI series as he gears up for his first action after retiring from the T20I cricket.

In the Gambhir era, veterans Kohli and Rohit will continue to headline the longer formats in the lead-up to the forthcoming ICC events.

On Wednesday, batting maestro Kohli enjoyed his first training camp under the watchful eyes of Gambhir.

Kohli was even spotted laughing with Gambhir as the instance soon became the talk of the town on social media. "Started from the bottom, now we here Gautam Gambhir | Virat Kohli," Delhi Capitals captioned their post after recalling Gambhir's unforgettable gesture for a young Kohli.

Notably, the duo has had a few bitter face-offs in the past which are well-documented but the two seemed to have moved on from their past rivalry for the sake of Indian cricket.

With all the noise surrounding them, Gambhir, after taking up the new head coach role, declared that his relationship with the mainstay batter “is between the two of us and not for TRPs”.
