IND vs WI: The Indian Test team registered their third straight win of the WTC cycle as they had beaten West Indies by seven wickets in New Delhi on Tuesday. They had also defeated England in their fifth Test match and then defeated West Indies in this two-match Test series.

The host chased the target of 121 runs in 35.2 overs and clinch the series by 2-0 and won their first Test series of the WTC cycle.

After winning this match, the Men in Blue have increased their winning streak at this venue to 14 matches as they had first won a match here back in 1993 against Zimbabwe, which they wn by an innings and 13 runs. It is their longest ever winning streak in India at this stadium.

A One-Sided Show

The host needed 58 runs to win the match on the fifth day of the second Test match, opener KL Rahul and Dhruv Jurel finished the job for the team with one hour of the first session remaining.

Rahul had hit six fours and two sixes and had built a partnership of 79 runs with Sai Sudharsan for the 2nd wicket but the partnership came to an end after Sai got out. Shubman Gill did have a flying start as he had smashed a four and one six and then got out after scoring 13 runs off 15 balls.

The second Test went till the 5th day on the back of tons by West Indies batter John Campbell and Shai Hope and the record 10th wicket partnership. The pitch did help the spinners, who kept the ball low and slow.

In these two Test matches, the Indian bowlers took 40 wickets, where fast bowlers performed brilliantly on tricky pitches and spinners bowled patiently after the surface deteoriated. Five Indian battetrs smashed tons and six of them were near 90s in these games.
