IND vs WI 2nd Test: The host have won their first Test series under the leadership of India skipper Shubman Gill at their home soil on Tuesday. KL Rahul once again shone brightly as he smashed a fifty of 101 balls and helped the hosts win the match by seven wickets. He was the pick among the batters yet again on tricky pitch surfaces after both Sai and Gill were dismissed early while playing rash shots.

The match was being held at Arun Jaitley Stadium, where the ball did turn a lot and was kept low, but Rahul proved his worth and helped the team chase the target in the morning session of the last day itself. Rahul defended all the low balls as he tried to step out and smashed balls for fours in Roston Chase's over, and Jomel Warrican also bowled a few overs.

Talking about leading the Test team for the first time at Homesoil, Shubman Gill said, '' It's a really big honor (to lead India), I'm kind of getting used to it. Managing all the players, leading this team, is a great honor. It's about taking the right options in the given situation. I try to make the most probable decision in the given situation that we are in. And sometimes you have to take a bold decision, depending on which player can get you certain runs or can get you those wickets. (On enforcing the follow-on) We were around 300 runs ahead. We thought even if we scored like 500 runs and we have to get 6 or 7 wickets on day 5, it could be a tough day for us. So, that was the thought process. ''

Rahul then smashed Warrican for a four and helped the team win the match with one hour remaining of the first session.

Rahul and Jurel were seen celebrating the win aggressively, and this is a scene that the fans should get used to.

Star all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy didn't get to bowl in the second Test like he did in the first Test.

To this, Gill said, ''He didn't really get to bowl in this match. We don't want players to only play matches overseas. That puts a lot of pressure on the players. We want to groom certain players that we think can help us win matches overseas because that's been a challenge for us. When I'm going out there to bat, batting is something that I've been doing since I was 3 or 4 years old. So, when I want to go out there, I just want to make decisions as a batsman. The one thing that you always strive for is how to make your team win a match. And as a batsman, when I'm going out there, that's the only thought that I have. ''

The Men in Blue will next be seen in action for a three-match ODI series against Australia, which will be held later this week.

Shubman Gill also talked about how this series is going to be challenging and said, ''It's a long flight, maybe we can plan on the flight. ''
