IND vs WI 2nd Test: Indian opener Yashasvi Jaiswal scored an incredible hundred on Day 1 of the 2nd Test between India and West Indies at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Friday. A well-crafted knock by the southpaw, as he is still unbeaten at stumps on Day 1, catapulting India to 318 for 2 at the end of 90 overs. Ever since Jaiswal has been drafted into the side as an opener, his exploits have been a headache for bowlers around the world.

Jaiswal is currently unbeaten at 173 with the help of 22 boundaries in the innings.

Jaiswal, with his hundred, has equaled the record of Graeme Smith of scoring 7 tons before turning 24. The 23-year-old is only the second opener in the world to achieve this feat. This century of Jaiswal came in his 48th Test inning.

Jaiswal and Smith are placed 2nd and 1st in the list, followed by England’s Len Hutton and Alastair Cook, and West Indies’ Kraigg Brathwaite with five centuries each.

Sachin Tendulkar, Don Bradman Top The List

Australian legend Don Bradman holds the world record for scoring the most Test centuries before turning 24. Interestingly, Bradman accumulated 12 centuries before he turned 24. Sachin Tendulkar is second on the list with 11 centuries, and Garry Sobers takes the third position with nine centuries.

Sai Sudharsan Misses Out On Ton

Having received the national selectors and team management's backing or the vital No 3 slot, Sai Sudharsan responded with a fine 87 off 165 balls, while KL Rahul missed out on a big score after getting out for 38.

At close of play, skipper Shubman Gill was giving Jaiswal company on 20.

Left-arm spinner Jomel Warrican (2/60 in 20 overs) picked up both the wickets for the West Indies, who endured another difficult day after the crushing defeat in the series opener in Ahmedabad.
