India all-rounder Hardik Pandya is all set to surpass the leading pace bowler and his fellow teammate Jasprit Bumrah in the list of most T20I wickets.

Pandya is currently leading the Indian side in the T20I series against West Indies and has 70 wickets to his name in the shortest format. He just needs one more wicket to go past Bumrah who also has 70 wickets to his name so far.

The leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal currently is India's leading wicket-taker in T20Is with 93 wickets under his belt in 76 matches while Bhuvneshwar Kumar stands second in the list with 90 wickets in 87 matches.

India under the captaincy of Pandya lost the first T20I of the five-match series against West Indies by four runs as Men in Blue eye a revenge for a comeback in the series.

The Men in Blue will be aiming for a series win, having already won the two-match Test series 1-0 and the three-match ODI series 2-1.

Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan tops the overall list of leading wicket-takers in T20Is as he has 140 wickets to his name in 117 matches.

Bumrah, who has just recovered from his long and frustrating back injury, will be making his comeback in the India side in the T20I series against Ireland.

The pace bowler has also been appointed as the captain for the three-match away series.

He was last seen in action in September last year and has been out of action since, missing out on the major tournaments and series like Asia Cup 2022, T20 World Cup 2022, Border-Gavaskar Trophy, and World Test Championship final against Australia in June this year.

The three T20Is between India and Ireland will start on August 18 at Malahide, Dublin with the following two matches on August 20 and 23 on the same ground.
