India captain Rohit Sharma is not only an exceptional cricketer but also an outstanding individual. His teammates and coaches have consistently praised his kind and supportive nature, with the fielding coach, T Dilip, recently acknowledging that Rohit is a great leader and a genuinely good person.

In a recent interview on the Raw Talks with VK podcast on YouTube, fielding coach T Dilip showered praise on Rohit, saying that while his batting skills speak for themselves, what's truly remarkable is his exceptional character. Dilip emphasized that Rohit is an outstanding individual, with a rare combination of kindness, empathy, and compassion, making him one of the finest human beings in the cricketing world.

“I don’t have to talk about his batting because everyone knows he’s one of the best pullers of the ball. All that is there, but the angle that I’ve seen through my work… When I was with the Deccan Chargers, I was able to see Rohit Sharma from a distance. In the last three years, whatever time I’ve spent with him, there are very few good human beings like him that I’ve seen in life,” Dilip said in the podcast.

“Another thing is the relationship he has with every member of the team. The relation, the bond he’s built by talking to each one,” he added.

Mentioning Rohit's humorous side, Dilip shared a lighthearted anecdote from the recent Sri Lanka tour, where Rohit playfully charged at Washington Sundar after the all-rounder struggled with his run-up twice in a row.

“He is actually a very funny person, a happy-going person on the field. You also must have seen, in the match the other day, when Washington skipped twice, the running… So he tries to create a very nice environment on the ground as a leader," said the fielding coach.

“There are funny incidents around that but he’s a great human being and there’s no need to talk about how good his leadership is… There’s the World Cup and the IPL trophies before that. He’s one of the best,” Dilip added.
