Bangladesh Reveals Schedule Of India Tour Amid Mustafizur Rahman Controversy

IND vs BAN: The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has revealed its cricketing schedule this year, and that also includes a series against India, which includes a three-match ODI series against India later this year. They revealed that this series will be held instead of the postponed series last year, owing to political tensions.

The news has come at a time when there are lots of anti-Bangladesh protests held in India. A few people are also slamming KKR for buying Mustafizur Rahman in the IPL 2026 auction as the threat of boycott looms large.

There were also reports of violence against the minority in Bangladesh. As per the frustrated fans, buying a Bangladeshi player at this time is insensitive, but there is no rule that an IPL team will release a player before the league. The BCCI has also not said anything about this topic.

The Men in Blue were supposed to face Bangladesh in August last year, but the boards had released a joint statement and said that they were postponing the series owing to ‘international cricketing commitments and scheduling convenience’ of both teams. But as per CNN-News18, the BCCI was worried about the security situation in Bangladesh as it was going through a period of political turmoil, as the Sheikh Hasina-led government was overthrown.

Till December, a series between the Indian women and the Bangladesh women was also postponed without any official reason. The five-match series against Sri Lanka had replaced this series.

As per BCB, the Men in Blue will go to Bangladesh in August, where they will play a three-match ODI series. The T20I series will be held from September 9, 12, and 13.

Bangladesh will also play a bilateral series against Pakistan, New Zealand, Australia, and the West Indies in all three formats.

“The confirmed itinerary ensures a season full of international cricket in Bangladesh, providing supporters across the country the opportunity to watch top-level cricket at home, while details of match venues will be announced in due course," a statement released by the board said.
