Making his first international appearance in six months, India batter Shreyas Iyer slammed his second-fastest fifty in ODIs during a match against England at the Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium, Nagpur on Thursday.

The right-handed batter made a stunning comeback, unleashing his power-hitting skills against Jofra Archer in the 7th over. In a thrilling display, Iyer struck two consecutive massive sixes, with the first one being a powerful pull shot over midwicket, followed by an amazing uppercut on the very next ball.

Iyer produced a breathtaking batting display, racing to his fifty in a mere 30 deliveries. His whirlwind innings was marked by eight crisply struck fours and two towering sixes, as he maintained a staggering strike rate of 176.7.

The 30-year-old batter registered a remarkable landmark in his ODI career by scoring the 19th half-century in this format. With this, Iyer's highly impressive record in ODIs now reads: 2,480 runs from 63 matches- with an average of 47.69. His strike rate is as commendable as the runs he makes, for the quick scoring and sensible batting that he puts forward.

Talking about his ODI career, besides 19 half-centuries, Iyer has also whacked five ODI centuries, cementing his place among key names in India's batting lineup.
