IND vs NZ T20 World Cup 2026 Final: India is set to field an unchanged XI for the T20 World Cup 2026 final against New Zealand in Ahmedabad on Sunday. According to the Indian Express, team management remains confident in the existing lineup, including Abhishek Sharma and Varun Chakravarthy, despite recent discussions about their form. This decision follows India's seven-run win over England in the semifinal.

Three Indian players—Abhishek, Chakravarthy, and skipper Suryakumar Yadav—have struggled with consistency after the Super 8s. Abhishek, despite being the world's No. 1 T20I batter, scored a fifty against Zimbabwe but has not made significant contributions in other matches.

Experts suggested that the team management should consider dropping Abhishek and bringing in Rinku Singh. Although Rinku also struggled for runs in the first half of the tournament, he is viewed as someone who could potentially contribute as a lower-order batter.

Sunil Gavaskar said, "I'd like Ishan Kishan to open with Sanju Samson and Rinku Singh to come in. Rinku believes in himself—sometimes things just work out for players like him."

ChakravartChakravarthy has taken one wicket per match, but his economy rate increased during the Super 8s on batter-friendly surfaces. Indian fans had urged the team management to include Kuldeep Yadav in Chakravarthy's place in the playing XI since he has more experience in ICC events. But Suryakumar had already emphasized that they won't most probably drop him during the pre-match press conference.

Suryakumar said, "Varun’s form isn’t a concern. He’s world No. 1, and this is a team sport. Anyone can have a bad day. When that happens, others step up. We won the match. We’ll see tomorrow about the changes."
