India vs Oman, Asia Cup 2025: Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya had a disappointing outing with the match during the match against Oman in the ongoing Asia Cup 2025 at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi on Friday.

Hardik's dismissal came as an unfortunate incident as India lost their third wicket after opting to bat first. He was dismissed for just one run in one delivery. The senior all-rounder came out to bat at the no.4 position after Abhishek Sharma's dismissal in the eighth over for 38 runs.

Hardik took a single in the very first delivery he faced off Jiten Ramanandi. In the very next delivery, Jiten bowled a brilliant slower one and almost beat Sanju Samson, who mistimed his shot. His shot went in the air, and Jiten couldn't catch the ball due to his follow through but managed to get a touch on it. The ball went on to hit the stumps at the non-striker's end, and Hardik was found way out of his crease.

While the Oman players started celebrating, Hardik headed straight back to the pavilion.

India were off to a disappointing start as vice-captain Shubman Gill was dismissed for just 5 runs in the second over of the match. Abhishek Sharma and Sanju Samson recovered brilliantly for the Men in Blue. The duo stitched a 66-run partnership for the second wicket.

Notably, this was the first time India batted first in the ongoing tournament. They headed into the Oman clash on the back of victories over the UAE and Pakistan in their first two group A matches.

The Men in Blue made a couple of changes in their lineup as Harshit Rana and Arshdeep Singh came in for Jasprit Bumrah and Varun Chakravarthy.

"We are looking to bat first. We have not batted first in this competition, and we want to know our depth. Having game time is important going into the Super 4s. We want to continue the good habits we are doing in the first two games, and want to continue to do that. It is looking nice and our openers will assess it further," Indian skipper Suryakumar Yadav said at the toss.
