IND vs PAK Asia Cup 2025 Final: India is all set to lock horns with arch-rivals Pakistan for the much-awaited summit clash in Dubai on Sunday. It's the first time that both these teams will be facing each other in the ongoing tournament and their fourth match in Dubai, but it's the first-ever India vs Pakistan final in this tournament, and that's why it has become a high-octane clash.

The Suryakumar Yadav-led side has been in brilliant form as they have won all six of their matches, which also includes defeating Pakistan twice, during the Group stage and then in Super 4.

Under the captaincy of Suryakumar Yadav, India is eyeing their ninth Asia Cup title.

Ahead of the upcoming match, let's take a look at the top five most memorable India vs Pakistan matches in Asia Cup history.

1) 1986 Final: Miandad’s Last Ball Six

The first time the rivalry between these two countries became intense in this tournament was way back during the 1986 summit clash. While batting first, the Men in Blue had scored 245 runs, and that was a mammoth target back then. Sunil Gavaskar and Kris Srikanth gave the team a flying start, whereas Dilip Vengsarkar scored a gritty knock. The Men in Green's chase never got going as the team suffered a batting collapse. But Javed Miandad held the innings from one end.

The match had an unforgettable climax. When Pakistan needed just 4 runs to win the match on the last ball, Miandad batted against Chetan Sharma, who had put a lot of pressure. Sharma had bowled a peachy delivery, but Miandad smashed the ball towards mid-wicket for a six. This helped Pakistan lift their first Asia Cup title and also broke the hearts of the Indian fans. This had become a defining moment in the history of the rivalry and had helped create Miandad's image of being the greatest finisher of all time.

2) 2012: The Dawn of Virat Kohli’s Dominance

The 2012 match between India and Pakistan was held in Mirpur, and that's when Virat Kohli announced his arrival in world cricket. While chasing a mammoth target of 330 runs, the Men in Blue were hoping for a miracle, and Kohli did just that by playing one of the best ODI innings of all time. He had scored 183 runs off 148 balls and had taken the Pakistan bowlers to the cleaners by smashing brilliant drives.

3) 2014: Afridi’s Magic in Dhaka

If Kohli's brilliant knock of 183 runs was called as being dominant, Shahid Afridi's brilliant knock way back in 2014 was about audacity. The Men in Blue had posted a mammoth target of 245 runs in Dhaka on the back of fifties by Rohit Sharma and Ambati Rayudu. The Men in Green's chase was full of ups and downs, where they needed 10 runs in the last over, and the match looked well-balanced. It was R Ashwin, who had bowled the last over, and Pakistan was dependent on Shahid Afridi, who helped the team script history.

4) 2010: Harbhajan Singh’s Last Over Heroics

The 2010 Asia Cup match became quite thrilling. While batting first, the Men in Green had posted a mammoth target of 267 runs on the back of fifties by Salman Butt and Shoaib Malik. The Men in Blue had a flying start to their chase, on the back of Gautam Gambhir's 83, but the match went down to the last over. India needed just 7 runs in the last over, and the match had become quite intense.

5) 2022: Hardik Pandya’s Houdini Act

The 2022 Asia Cup match in Dubai gave the fans their own version of a proper India vs Pakistan match. The Men in Green had posted a respectable target of 148, where Mohammad Rizwan had scored a brilliant knock. India had a shaky start to their chase, as they suffered a batting collapse, and it looked as if they would lose the match. But Hardik Pandya maintained his calm and took his team across the line.
