India vs Pakistan, Asia Cup 2025: Pakistan's opener Sahibzada Farhan opened up on his controversial celebration, which he displayed during their Asia Cup 2025 Super Fours match against India at the Dubai International Stadium on Sunday.

After completing his fifty, Farhan came up with a gunfire gesture, talking about which, the right-handed batter said that he 'doesn’t care' about the reaction it got from fans and suggested that it didn’t have anything to do with the opponent, but was a spur-of-the-moment decision.

Farhan continued his promising form with the bat and smashed an impressive half-century, contributing to Pakistan's impressive start after they were put into bat first. His knock of 58 runs in 45 balls on the back of five fours and three sixes helped Pakistan reach a challenging total of 171/5 in their 20 overs.

"That celebration was just a moment at that time. I do not do a lot of celebrations after scoring 50. But, it suddenly came to my mind that let's have a celebration today. I did that. I don't know how people will take it. I don't care about that," Farhan said in the post-match press conference.

"And the rest, you know, you should play aggressive cricket wherever you play. It is not necessary that it is India. You should play aggressive cricket against every team, like we played today," he added.

While Farhan's celebration would have been considered just another one in any other match, that wasn't the case during the India vs Pakistan match amid the recent controversial developments. The match was the first meeting between the arch-rivals after the Pahalgam Terror Attack and Operation Sindoor.

The Pakistani players looked rattled during the match and tried to provoke the Indian players and their fans, expressing their frustration after the Men in Blue refused the customary handshake with them after their earlier face-off. After India's group A win over Pakistan, skipper Suryakumar Yadav dedicated the victory to the victims of the Pahalgam Terror Attack and the Indian Armed Forces.

Pakistan now need to beat Sri Lanka and Bangladesh to have a chance at reaching the final. The match against Sri Lanka is scheduled for Tuesday.
