India vs Pakistan, Asia Cup 2025: Abhishek Sharma had a memorable outing with the bat for India during their Asia Cup 2025 Super Fours clash against arch-rivals Pakistan at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Sunday, September 21.

On the back of Abhishek's sensational knock of 72 runs in just 39 balls, India got the better of Pakistan by 6 wickets. This was India's fourth successive win in the ongoing continental tournament. Abhishek has been in remarkable form, but he missed out on his third T20I century, after which the former India opener Virender Sehwag came up with some big advice for him.

"Many congratulations on your innings. But I would like to say that jab sattar par pahunch jao to hundred miss mat karo (When you cross the 70-run mark, don’t miss out on a hundred). Great Sunil Gavaskar had told me this," Sehwag told Abhishek.

"Because when you look back at these moments after retirement, you will regret getting out in the 70s and 80s. These opportunities don’t come often. So, when it’s your day, try to remain unbeaten and finish the game for your team," he added.

The 25-year-old Abhishek smashed six fours and five sixes for his incredible effort before he was dismissed by Abrar Ahmed in the 13th over. He had stitched a 105-run opening stand with Shubman Gill (47 off 28). The Men in Blue ended up chasing down the 172-run target in just 18.5 overs, and Abhishek was adjudged as the Player of the Match.

Speaking to Sony Sports, the left-handed batter revealed that Pakistani players crossed the line with "personal attacks" during the match.

"Paaji, today, I think I needed to do something because I didn’t like what was happening," he said in a post-match chat with Sony Sports Network.

"The words that were being said… after every ball, they were making personal attacks. Shubman Gill and I were talking about it — that we’ll win our team the match and give them a befitting reply," he added.

Notably, Abhishek was smashing the Pakistani bowlers all over the park, and it led to frustration among the Men in Green as Haris Rauf and Shaheen Afridi were having a go at the young batter.
