IND vs SA: India's Test and ODI captain Shubman Gill is all set to report to the BCCI CoE just one week before the T20I series against South Africa, as per a Times of India report. Gill had sustained a neck injury in the series opener against South Africa, and that's why he has been ruled out of both the Test and ODI series.
Gill isn't part of India's ODI team for the three-match series against the same opponent, and as per the recovery plan made by spine specialist Dr Abhay Nene and the BCCI medical team, Gill will be resting before he restarts the next phase of his recovery at the CoE.
According to the report, a decision as to whether he will play in the T20I series or not will be taken as the selectors will look at all possible options. Since he is India's T20I vice-captain, he is an important part of this team.
His schedule for the next week has been made. Since he will be staying in Mumbai, there are high chances that he might go to Chandigarh before going to Bengaluru.
The hosts are currently playing the second Test match without the services of Gill and will also be playing the ODI series without him. Rishabh Pant is leading the team from the front in the ongoing Test match, whereas KL Rahul will be leading the ODI team.
There are fewer chances of Gill playing the T20I series against the Proteas, which will be held next month.

As per BCCI, Gill isn't just suffering from neck spasm and will be needing lots of rest, and that's why the team management isn't taking any more risks with him.
Gill, who sustained a neck injury in the series opener, had been ruled out of the ongoing Test owing to the injury. He is currently in Mumbai, where he underwent medical tests, like an MRI, to analyse the impact of the injury.
