KOHLI IN EXCELLENT FORM
Kohli will be playing in an ODI match at home for the first time after February 2025, and that's why expectations will be high from him. The star batter has been in brilliant form for the last few months, and that's why he is called one of the best batters. During the Champions Trophy 2025, he had contributed significantly, which also includes a hundred against arch-rivals Pakistan and a gritty knock of 84 runs against Australia.
He had a disappointing start to the ODI series against Australia, where he was dismissed on ducks twice. But then he made a brilliant comeback in the last match, where he scored runs and helped the team chase 237 runs. It was also a historic innings as Kohli surpassed Kumar Sangakkara and became the second-highest run-scorer in this format.
By scoring 14000 runs in this format and an average close to 58, the star batter will be entering this series in brilliant form. He has a brilliant record while chasing, as he is sitting at the top position in the list of batters who have scored 50-plus scores and have scored more than 6000 runs in successful chases in this format.
