India vs West Indies 1st Test: Ravindra Jadeja smashed his sixth Test century during the first Test between India and the West Indies at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Friday.

Jadeja reaches the milestone by taking one run on the third ball of the 126th over of India’s first innings, bowled by Jomel Warrican. The star all-rounder has been in remarkable form in Test cricket lately and capitalised once again with another impressive effort.

The century on the second day of the match helped him become the third Indian cricketer, after Kapil Dev and Ravichandran Ashwin, to score at least six centuries and take at least six five-wicket hauls in Test cricket.

During his playing days, Kapil scored 8 centuries and picked up 23 fifers in 131 Test matches, whereas Ashwin finished his 106-match-long Test career with 6 centuries and 37 five-wicket hauls. On the other hand, Jadeja now has six centuries and 15 five-wicket hauls to his name in 86 Tests.

During his stay at the crease on Friday, Jadeja faced 176 balls and slammed 6 fours and 5 sixes. He added 206 runs for the fifth wicket with Dhruv Jurel, who made 125 runs from 210 balls (15 fours and 3 sixes).

India ended the second day on 448/5 in 128 overs in their first innings with Ravindra Jadeja (104) and Washington Sundar (9) at the crease. The hosts have taken a massive lead of 286 runs.
