India-Pakistan Handshake Controversy: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), in a viral video, has taken a jibe at the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the Indian cricket team for their blatant refusal to shake hands during the Asia Cup 2025, where the Suryakumar Yadav-led side skipped pleasantries in all three games.
The trend later on was carried by India's youth and women's teams in their encounters with Pakistan.
Ahead of their three-match T20I series against Australia, PCB dropped a promotional video, but what ignited the spark was a jibe, 'shayad padosi k paas bhi rukhe the aap'. In the promo, an Aussie tourist was seen missing a handshake with a cab driver, which promoted the jibe.

The promo also featured Pakistan T20I skipper Salman Ali Agha. Earlier, Indian cricket teams avoided all the formalities with Pakistan in their matches ever since the terrorist attack at Pahalgam in 2025.
Moreover, after the ICC rejected Bangladesh's proposal to relocate their T20 World Cup games out of India to Sri Lanka because of "security" concerns, sources said Pakistan will not withdraw from the tournament to support Bangladesh, Telecom Asia Sport reported.
"Pakistan backed Bangladesh's stance on principles because, on India's insistence, their matches were moved out from Pakistan to Dubai, but the same reason by Bangladesh was not accepted, which is disappointing," sources told www.telecomasia.net.
"Pakistan is considering various options, but withdrawal from the event is never an option nor was it considered," said sources.
Meanwhile, Pakistan will face off against its traditional rival India in a few weeks at the ICC T20 World Cup 2026.
