IND vs WI: Devajit Saikia, who is the BCCI secretary, has said that they will announce the Indian team for the two-match Test series against West Indies either on September 23 or 24. The Men in Blue will be starting their home Test season by playing a two-match Test series against West Indies from next month in Ahmedabad.

This will be their first home Test series in the ongoing 2025-27 WTC cycle, where they had a flying start by ending the Test series against England in a 2-2 tie under Shubman Gill's leadership. Before this series, Devajit Saikia said that they would be holding an online meeting to select the team.

"Selection for the Indian Test team for the upcoming Test series against West Indies will be done on September 23 or 24. The selection meeting will be online," Saikia told The Times of India.

The second Test will be held from October 10-14 in Delhi. Mohammed Siraj will be making a comeback to the national side in this series, who had played a huge role in helping the team win the fifth and the last Test match against England at the Oval, where he registered career best figures of 9/190. He had also won the ICC Player of the Month award for his brilliant performance.

At the same time, the West Indies had revealed their team for this series as they had called back Tagnarine Chanderpaul, Shivnarine Chanderpaul's son. Batter Alick Athanzae will also be making a comeback to the national side, whereas left-arm spinner Khari Pierre had received his maiden Test call-up. Pierre had taken 41 wickets at a brilliant average of 13.56 during the West Indies championship.
