IND vs AFG T20I Series 2024: After the fruitful South Africa tour, India are all set to host neighbours Afghanistan in the upcoming three-match T20I series starting on January 11. The series will start India's preparations for this year's T20 World Cup 2024, scheduled to be played in the West Indies and the USA in June.

India will only play three T20Is against Afghanistan in the build-up to the T20 pinnacle event. The first T20I between India and Afghanistan will be played in Mohali on January 11 followed by Indore and Bengaluru on January 14 and 17 respectively.

India have never lost any T20I match against Afghanistan in the five matches so far. Men in Blue outclassed the Afghans four times while their last encounter at the Asian Games 2023 Men's Cricket Final in Hangzhou got washed out.

In the series, India will be without regular T20I skipper Hardik Pandya and Suryakumar Yadav, who will miss the matches due to respective injuries.

Captain Rohit Sharma and senior batter Virat Kohli are expected to return to the T20I side after staying away from the format following the T20 World Cup 2022 semi-final exit against England in Adelaide, Australia.
