India vs New Zealand T20 World Cup Final: Former Pakistan pacer Mohammad Amir has maintained a relentless assault on the Indian cricket team, targeting their patchy performances and lack of cohesion in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup, questioning the Suryakumar Yadav-led side's ability to gel as a unit.a
Amir's earlier prophecies had fallen flat, with India defying odds to reach the Super 8 stage and later stunning England in a high-scoring semi-final thriller, winning by seven runs.
The Pakistan pacer remained undeterred despite India's remarkable run in the T20 World Cup, claiming that the team's success hinges on just two players - Jasprit Bumrah and Sanju Samson.
“New Zealand delivered a complete performance against South Africa in the semi-final. As a team, they have consistently been giving complete performances. For India, I still feel their wins are coming mainly because of two players. Jasprit Bumrah and Sanju Samson have made a significant impact," Amir said on Haarna Mana Hai.
“The Narendra Modi Stadium will favour New Zealand. Looking at the bowling department, New Zealand seems to be in better form than India. Aside from Bumrah, I don’t see anyone else in form. Both Varun Chakaravarthy and Hardik Pandya are struggling," he added.
Amir has thrown his weight behind New Zealand to claim the T20 World Cup title, citing their superior bowling department as the deciding factor.
“Both teams have similar batting line-ups with strong players. However, New Zealand’s bowling is in good form, whereas India relies heavily on Bumrah. That’s why I think New Zealand will win," Amir concluded.
India is set to make its fourth T20 World Cup final appearance, while New Zealand will play in their second final. Suryakumar Yadav’s team is aiming to become the first team to successfully defend the title and secure a record third T20 World Cup trophy, having previously won the championship twice.
