India vs West Indies 2nd Test: India's star spinner Kuldeep Yadav's five-wicket haul against West Indies in the second Test earned him a notable record while also bolstering the hosts' position in the Test.

With figures of 5/82 in 26.5 overs, Kuldeep equalled former England spinner Johnny Wardle's record for the most five-wicket hauls by a left-arm wrist spinner in Tests.

Kuldeep has accomplished the same milestone as Wardle, who played 28 Tests, in just 15 Tests. Both spinners bagged five five-wicket hauls to their name, but Kuldeep has achieved this in nearly half the number of matches.

South Africa’s Paul Adams, left-arm wrist spinner, collected four five-wicket hauls in 45 matches. Meanwhile, Wardle completed his fifth Test five-wicket haul in a 1957 match against South Africa in Durban, finishing with a figure of 5/61 in the first innings.

Having declared after amassing a massive first-innings total of 518 for five, Indian spinner Kuldeep Yadav took a five-wicket haul to bundle out the West Indies in the second session after they resumed the day at the overnight score of 140/4.

The hosts took a first-innings lead of 270 as they decided to make West Indies bat again.

The spinners did the bulk of the work with Ravindra Jadeja ending the innings with figures of 3/46 while pacers Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj picked a wicket each.
