Virat Kohli Century, IND vs SA 2nd ODI Updates: Virat Kohli continued his magnificent form with the bat as he smashed another outstanding century in the second ODI match between India and South Africa at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium in Raipur on Wednesday.
This was Kohli's 53rd ODI century, having hit a ton in the first match in Ranchi as well. The senior batter went on to play a billiant knock of 102 runs in 93 balls on the back of seven fours and two sixes to help India post a massive total of 358/5 in their 50 overs after being put into bat first. However, India went on to lose the match as the Proteas chased down the target in 49.2 overs to bounce back and level the three-match series by 1-1.

It was the first international match in 2462 days that India have lost in which Kohli scored a century. The last such instance in which Kohli crossed the 100-run mark and India suffered a defeat came on March 8, 2019 in Ranchi during their match against Australia, which interestingly was also MS Dhoni’s last international match in India. In that fixture, Kohli had scored 123 runs from 95 balls, but India could only manage to score 281 runs in reply to the 315-run target.

Virat has looked in commendable touch in the ongoing series and will be looking to come up with another special performance in the final match to help India clinch the series. He will have a chance to score three consecutive centuries in an ODI series once again, having achieved the feat in the past against the West Indies.
The 37-year-old Virat recently confirmed his availability for the Vijay Hazare Trophy as he aims to get more game time ahead of the ODI World Cup 2027, having already retired from the T20I and Test formats.
