IND-W vs AUS-W 1st T20I: Harmanpreet Kaur has requested more women's Test matches as the Women in Blue will lock horns with Australia for a multi-format series. The series will start with three T20Is and then will play a series of as many ODIs, and then will face each other for a pink-ball Test in Perth. After 2014, the Indian women's team has played in seven Tests, whereas Australia has played in 12 Test matches, which is the most by any team.
The Harmanpreet Kaur-led side defeated Australia in a Test match in 2021, where Smriti Mandhana's brilliant knock of 127 helped the team draw the match in Queensland. After two years, India had beaten Australia by eight wickets in Mumbai.
"Multi-format series are always very exciting. We're really looking forward to that because playing T20 and ODI is always great, but Tests are something we always want to play, and a pink-ball Test match is always going to be very exciting,” Harmanpreet told reporters during the pre-match press conference.

WE ARE ON THE RIGHT TRACK
India has been in outstanding form over the last three to four months. They lifted the World Cup at home last November and followed it up with a dominant 5-0 series sweep against Sri Lanka. With the Women’s T20 World Cup now on the horizon, Harmanpreet spoke about maintaining momentum and continuing the strong run of performances.
"We are really working hard to achieve all our targets. Winning the (ODI) World Cup was one of them, so we are on the right track. We're just working really hard, and hopefully we'll keep bringing our best whenever we play.
"We know (Australia) is very strong. We have seen they've been playing really good cricket for such a long time. One thing is very clear: whenever you go with a great mindset and a good, positive approach, you can always bring your best,” Harmanpreet added.

India began the tour with a five-wicket win against Governor-General XI Women at the North Sydney Oval. The first of the three T20Is is scheduled to be held on Sunday, February 15, at the Sydney Cricket Ground.
