India women vs Australia women Test match: Australia women won the toss and opted to bat first in the one-off Test match against India at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Thursday, December 21.
Richa Ghosh is making her Test debut for India as she becomes the 94th women's player to feature for India in the longest format of the game.
On the other hand, Lauren Cheatle is also making her debut for Australia after she impressed with a performance of four wickets for 19 runs in their red-ball practice match against Mumbai XI.
India are fresh off a historic win against England and they will be high on confidence to attempt for the same against the mighty Australian side.
The hosts got the better of England in the only Test match, beating them by 347 runs last week with Australia set for action in the longest format on the back of 45 days of a T20 league.
When it comes to head-to-head contests between India and Australia in Test matches, the latter have an upper hand with four wins and six draws across 10 meetings.
