IPL 2024 Schedule: Chennai Super Kings will be taking on Royal Challengers Bangalore in the opening match of the IPL 2024 at the Chepauk Stadium on Friday, March 22.
This will be the ninth time when CSK will be playing the opening match of the World's most popular T20 league as the MS Dhoni-led side gears up for action against Faf Du Plessis-led RCB, the team which includes stars like Virat Kohli and Glenn Maxwell.

It is to be noted that only the schedule for the first phase of the tournament is out and the rest will be announced after the dates of the general elections are out.
The BCCI released a partial schedule for the 2024 season; for the first 17 days (March 22 to April 7) during which 21 matches will be played.
There will be four double-headers during its period with Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals set to play the first afternoon fixture of the season on March 23 in Mohali.
Kolkata Knight Riders' will kick off their campaign at home against Sunrisers Hyderabad on the same day. Rajasthan Royals also get their season underway at home, against Lucknow Super Giants on the first Sunday of the season.
The whole of the IPL 2024 is likely to be played in India, as confirmed by BCCI officials on multiple occasions.
Chennai Super Kings are the defending champions, having won their record-equaling fifth title after defeating Gujarat Titans in the final.
Mumbai Indians, who will be led by Hardik Pandya this season will kick off their season with the match against Gujarat Titans.
The build-up of the tournament saw a headline move when Pandya returned to his former team Mumbai Indians and replaced Rohit Sharma as their new captain.
Notably, the first phase of the season will not have any matches in Delhi with the Delhi Capitals playing their two home games in Vizag.
