IPL 2024 Tickets: The madness for the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is touching new heights as the online ticket booking platforms have been overwhelmed by the craze for the tournament opener between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) tickets.
MS Dhoni-led CSK will host Faf du Plessis' team at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on March 22. The sale of the tickets started on Monday on the online ticket-selling platforms - PayTM Insider and BookMyShow. However, both websites faced technical glitches that left fans disappointed.
On PayTM Insider, the estimated wait time for ticket booking for the tournament opener is 55 minutes with over 32,000 people waiting in the queue.
On BookMyShow's website, the link for the CSK vs RCB match ticket is not working.

My colleague at work has given up booking the CSK RCB match ticket. He has different errors when he adds an item to cart. What a waste of a day for so many fans who want to book a ticket#CSKvsRCB #ipltickets #IPL2024 pic.twitter.com/FtAhHBmfaM

In fact, Rajasthan Royals spinner Ravichandran Ashwin was also at the receiving end of the technical issue. The local player requested his former franchise CSK to help him arrange tickets for his daughters.
Unreal ticket demand for the #CSKvRCB #IPL2024 opener at Chepauk.

CSK are the defending champions of the tournament after the Dhoni-led side defeated Gujarat Titans in the IPL 2023 final to clinch their record-equalling fifth title. Dhoni had promised to play another season for his fans after receiving unprecedented love and affection last year.
On the other hand, Virat Kohli will return to RCB after a long gap from international cricket due to the birth of his second child Akaay. He missed the recently concluded five-match Test series against England that the hosts won 4-1 under the leadership of Rohit Sharma.
