The newly-appointed captain of SRH (SunRisers Hyderabad) Pat Cummins, made an 'incredible' statement on Friday regarding the legendary MS Dhoni of Chennai Super Kings, praising his unmatched fan base. Cummins recognized Dhoni's lasting influence on the sport, emphasizing his invaluable contributions to cricket, both on and off the field.
The atmosphere at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad was electrifying as the iconic MS Dhoni stepped onto the field for his second batting appearance in IPL 2024. Despite facing just two deliveries and scoring only 1 run, the crowd erupted into thunderous applause, savoring the opportunity to witness their beloved icon in action.
"Different soil. Slowed up a little bit as the game went on. Shivam was hitting it well against the spin. Thought we'll take chance with off-cutters. First thing is always to get the points," Cummins said at the post-match presentation.

"Wouldn't want to be bowling to him (Abhishek) and Trav Head at the top. Crowd was crazy tonight. When MS walked out, it was as loud as I've ever heard," Cummins added.
Hyderabad smashed 78 runs in the Power-play with a 35-ball fifty by Aiden Markram to register a six-wicket win over Chennai Super Kings (CSK) to get their second successive home win at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on Friday.
After SRH bowlers, especially the seamers, used the slowness of the pitch to their advantage by bowling slower balls to restrict CSK to 165/5, Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma came out swinging to decide the result of the match in the Power-play itself. Eventually, SRH completed the chase in 18.1 overs to give CSK their second successive defeat on the road.
