IPL 2026: Royal Challengers Bengaluru's star batter Jitesh Sharma revealed what the difference is between professional cricketers and those who play 'gully cricket' before the upcoming season of the IPL. A video had gone viral on social media, showing Jitesh taking the bowlers to the cleaners. The star wicket-keeper batter, who played with a brilliant strike rate of 176.35 during the previous season, took on the challenge of chasing 40 runs off 15 balls and chased the target comprehensively by smashing sixes and fours.
Jitesh hit three sixes and a four in the first six balls, then needed 18 runs off nine. He missed a few balls but smashed two sixes, bringing the equation to two runs off the last three balls. He completed the challenge on the final delivery.

He was not selected for India's T20 World Cup-winning team. Though part of India’s T20I squad before the tournament, the BCCI opted for two wicket-keeper batters capable of top-order batting, which led to Jitesh's exclusion from the 15-member team.

For the upcoming season, RCB will rely on Jitesh Sharma. Along with Australia's Tim David and the West Indies' Romario Shepherd, Jitesh is among the team's best finishers.
