IPL 2026: Indian wicketkeeper batter Sanju Samson earned his biggest cheer from CSK (Chennai Super Kings) fans after the franchise released a video of him sporting the yellow jersey on Wednesday. The 31-year-old player from Kerala commands a massive fan base in Chennai despite never being a part of the franchise in the past. Sanju's entry in the franchise felt 'euphoric' as he made no secret of his admiration for the franchise..

CSK shared a video on social media in which Samson explained his feelings after donning the yellow colour.

“I have been waiting for this day. And I’m very fortunate that I’m going to wear the yellow jersey," Sanju said.

“For a player who has built his reputation with elegance, resilience and consistency, being welcomed into the CSK setup marks a significant milestone. I felt like a champion. I felt like ok wow," he added.

Samson is set to represent CSK in the upcoming season, as he maintained his current salary of Rs 18 crores.

Samson had been the face of Rajasthan Royals for more than a decade, representing the franchise in 11 seasons. Having joined RR in 2013, he quickly became one of their key players and was retained ahead of the 2014 season, at just 19 years old.

After RR's two-year suspension (2016-17), Samson returned in 2018 and took over the captaincy in 2021. Under his leadership and with the guidance of team director Kumar Sangakkara, RR reached the IPL final in 2022, their first appearance since winning the inaugural edition in 2008.

Taking to Instagram, Samson wrote, "We are only here for a short period of time." Gave MY everything to this franchise, enjoyed some great cricket, made some lifetime relations, treated everyone in the franchise as my family..And when it's time..I AM moving On..Shall always be grateful for everything @rajasthanroyals."
