India vs Sri Lanka T20I Series: India's swashbuckling batter Jemimah Rodrigues cleverly addressed online trolls targeting "sister" Smriti Mandhana while congratulating her on becoming the first Indian woman to score 4,000 runs in Women's T20Is.

Mandhana achieved this feat during India's opening T20I against Sri Lanka in Visakhapatnam.

Rodrigues, who shared the field with Mandhana, took to Instagram to compliment her teammate, saying, "She's my sister! Also crazy biceps," subtly replying to trolls about Mandhana's physique.

Mandhana's elegant appearance at a recent OnePlus launch event in Bengaluru, where she wore a gorgeous white gown, was overshadowed by unwarranted comments on her athletic physique, with some social media users fixated on her broad shoulders.

Mandhana, who scored 25 runs during the 1st T20I of the five-match series, also became the first Indian and second overall to reach the landmark of 4000 runs in T20Is after New Zealand's Suzie Bates (4716 runs).

Additionally, Mandhana is also the fastest to do so in terms of balls taken (3227) than Bates, who took 3675 balls to reach the 4000 runs landmark.

Also, Mandhana is just 42 runs away from slamming 10,000 runs in women's international cricket. The vice-captain has notched up 4007 runs in T20Is, 5322 runs in ODIs, and 629 runs in Test cricket to date.

Mandhana had a subdued performance in the opening T20I, where she scored 25 runs off 25 balls, hitting four boundaries, before falling to Inoka Ranaweera.

She also struggled in the field, as she dropped a crucial catch off Shree Charani, gifting Vishmi Gunaratne a lifeline.

India flowed to the target in 14.4 overs, sealing an eight-wicket win with 32 balls remaining and taking a 1-0 lead in the series.
