KKR vs RCB, IPL 2024: Kolkata Knight Riders somehow managed to clinch the victory against Royal Challengers Bengaluru in match 36 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 on Sunday, April.
The crowd at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata witnessed an absolutely thrilling contest with the home side winning it just by one run that too on the very last ball of the match.
Phil Salt came up with an exceptional effort to run Lockie Ferguson out despite a poor throw towards him when RCB needed three runs off the final ball and two for the super over.

KKR made it a double over their long-time IPL rivals RCB, having also defeated them by seven wickets in the reverse fixture at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
Chasing the massive target, RCB needed 21 runs off the final over but Karn Sharma put up a heroic effort to take his team close to the victory.
He smashed Mitchell Starc for three sixes in the first three balls to keep the hopes alive for the visitors but his dismissal was a massive setback even though Ferguson needed just a hit to take his side home.
RCB in the end were bowled out for 221 in their 20 overs as they suffered seventh defeat of this season, remaining at the bottom of the points table.
"It takes a lot off your body and drains you out completely because you go through so many emotions. It’s tough to stay calm but I’m elated. We got two points on the board and that’s all that matters. It’s extremely tough when the pressure is on, I feel that every individual should put their hands up and take responsibility," KKR captain Shreyas Iyer said as his side took the second spot with their fifth win of the season.
Earlier in RCB's run chase, the match witnessed a controversy when Virat Kohli was unlucky to be given out on the delivery he believed was a no-ball for the waist height.
Will Jacks and Rajat Patidar did well with a partnership of 102 runs for the third wicket as both the batters smashed their respective fifties.

While Jacks and Patidar scored 55 and 52 before their respective dismissals, RCB looked on a promising track to chase down the total.
However, KKR bowlers used the conditions brilliantly towards the end with the likes of Harshit Rana (2 wickets) and Andre Russell (3 wickets) coming up with variations.
KKR were put into bat first and posted a massive total of 222/6 in their 20 overs on the back of Shreyas Iyer's half-century and Phil Salt's fiery knock of 48 runs in just 14 balls.
