KKR vs SRH, IPL 2024 Final: Kolkata Knight Riders are the IPL 2024 champions as they defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by eight wickets in the final at the MA Chidambaram Stadium on Sunday, May 26.
This is KKR's third IPL title win, having lifted the trophy in 2012 and 2014 as they ended a 10-year-long wait for the major success.
KKR put up a remarkable all-round performance and maintained their consistency throughout the tournament.
After being put into bowl first, KKR unleashed a magnificent effort with the ball and bowled SRH out for just 113 runs in 18.3 overs.
They chased down the total in just 10.3 overs, making it the biggest-ever win in an IPL knockout game in terms of balls remaining.
Venkatesh Iyer was the hero for KKR with the bat as he smashed a half-century in the all-important final, leaving no chance of a comeback for SRH bowlers.
Venkatesh remained unbeaten on 52 ns in just 26 balls with the help of four boundaries and three sixes.
While KKR clinched the IPL title in a dominant way, the cricket fraternity was quick to congratulate the Shreyas Iyer-led side for their clinical campaign.
Former India all-rounder Yuvraj Singh lauded KKR for clinical in the final and congratulated them for the IPL title win. He also heaped praise on mentor Gautam Gambhir for his fearless approach throughout the tournament.
