India vs Bangladesh Test Series: India have had a mixed start to its era under the new head coach Gautam Gambhir, having won a T20I series and lost an ODI series in Sri Lanka.
The ongoing Test series against Bangladesh is Gambhir's first in the longest format as India's head coach and the Rohit Sharma-led side would be keen to make it count with a memorable result.
India already have a 1-0 lead in the two-match series which led to massive praise for the team as well as the new coaching staff including assistant coaches Abhishek Nayar, Ryan ten Doeschate and bowling coach Morne Morkel.

However, former Bangladesh captain Tamim Iqbal came up with an interesting take on Gambhir's coaching tenure so far, saying it's too early to judge the work done by the former India opener in the all-important role.
Speaking ahead of the start of play on Day 1 of the 2nd Test in Kanpur, Tamim mentioned that Gambhir's 'real character' will come out once the Indian team loses a few games.
"When you're winning, you don't know the real character of the man. It's only when you lose a series, then you lose another, that the real character comes out. No doubt, he is a capable man, but it's too early. Let India have a bad game, then we will see what comes out," Tamim said on Sports 18.
Notably, India won the first Test by 280 runs in Chennai to mark a promising start to a new era under Gambhir in Tests.
India skipper Rohit Sharma won the toss and elected to bowl in the second Test in Kanpur on Friday. The hosts fielded an unchanged side whereas Bangladesh made two changes.

The first day witnessed an early conclusion of the action as rain and poor weather conditions interrupted the play after Bangladesh reached 107/3 in their first innings.
Gambhir took over the India head coach role from Rahul Dravid who guided the Men in Blue to the much-awaited title success T20 World Cup 2024.
BCCI rewarded Gambhir for his commendable work as mentor of Kolkata Knight Riders in their title triumph in IPL 2024.
