India spinner Manav Suthar has created history in County Cricket as he achieved a milestone that was seen only once in first-class cricket. Suthar, who made his Test debut against Afghanistan, continued his purple patch in red-ball cricket.

The left-arm spinner Suthar, who played a crucial role in India's two-Test-match series triumph against Sri Lanka, travelled to England to rejoin Warwickshire for his County Championship campaign.

The Rajasthan-born spinner played a key role in Warwickshire’s one-sided win over Glamorgan at Sophia Gardens in Cardiff. Warwickshire won the match by an innings and 257 runs after Glamorgan were bowled out for 69 and 65.

Suthar Joins Elite First-Class List

Suthar finished the match without conceding a run in both innings. He also picked up three wickets, with all of his dismissals coming through bowled.

His performance put him in a very exclusive list. Suthar is now only the second player in First-Class cricket history to take at least one wicket in both innings of a match without giving away a run.

The last player to achieve the feat was England’s Tom Hayward in 1895.

Three Deliveries, One Wicket In First Innings

Suthar barely needed to bowl in the first innings as Warwickshire’s seamers did most of the damage. He bowled just three deliveries before dismissing No. 11 Mir Hamza. Glamorgan were then bowled out for 69.

The spinner played a crucial role in the second innings. He came into the attack in the 24th over and immediately bowled a maiden.

In his second over, Suthar struck twice, dismissing wicketkeeper Chris Cooke and Jamie McIlroy within four balls. Glamorgan were eventually dismissed for just 65.

Suthar Continues His Excellent Run

The latest performance is another highlight in what has been an impressive season for Suthar. During his Test debut against Afghanistan, he picked up seven wickets, including a six-wicket haul. He then continued his strong form against Sri Lanka, claiming 16 wickets in two Tests.

Suthar has also been highly effective for Warwickshire in the County Championship. He got 21 scalps in eight innings, including a five-wicket haul versus Somerset.

Warwickshire Eye County Championship Title

Suthar will also most likely to feature in Warwickshire’s final two Division One matches against Essex and Leicestershire.

The Bears are currently at the top of the table with 184 points from 12 matches. They have an 11-point lead over second-placed Somerset as they look to finish their title campaign strongly.
