Former England batter Kevin Pietersen has taken a cheeky dig at Pakistan’s latest squad changes ahead of the third Test against England.

Pakistan have made seven changes to their squad for the Birmingham Test after losing the first two matches of the series. With so many changes being made at once, Pietersen joked that Pakistan captain Babar Azam could be in for a very long interview before the match.

“When a captain is interviewed before every game, the interviewer asks about changes in their team. Could be a v v v v long interview for my buddy, Babar!,” Pietersen wrote on X.

Pietersen then added another joke, suggesting that even the toss may have to start much earlier because of all the changes Pakistan have made.

“Maybe the toss should start the night before??”

Pakistan’s decision to make seven changes comes after a disappointing start to the series. England have already taken an unassailable 2-0 lead, leaving Pakistan with the task of avoiding a clean sweep in the third and final Test.

The major reshuffle means there will once again be plenty of attention on Pakistan’s playing XI before the match. With several players coming in and others being left out, team selection is expected to be one of the main talking points in Birmingham.
