Earlier, New Zealand posted a massive total of 207/5 in their 20 overs after being put into bat first. Mark Chapman was the star performer with the bat for the hosts, having played a fiery knock of 78 runs in just 28 balls. He smashed six fours and seven sixes.
"It's always nice to strike a few out of the middle. Obviously, I wasn't the only one today; there were a few contributions throughout. I thought Devon and Robo did a great job seeing off the new ball; it looked pretty tricky up front. (on your innings) I guess just trying to throw a few punches and trying to take it on a little bit more. Obviously, smaller boundaries here, so you have to play a bit more of a fearless brand of cricket. So yeah, just thankful it came off today," Chapman said after being adjudged as the Player of the Match.
The third T20I match of the series is scheduled to be played at Nelson in Saxton Oval on Sunday, November 9.
