NZ vs AUS T20I Series 2024 Schedule: New Zealand and Australia will engage in the three-match T20I series, starting on Wednesday, February 21, in the final dress rehearsals for the T20 World Cup 2024 in the West Indies and the USA.

Spinner Mitchell Santner will lead the home side while all-rounder Mitchell Marsh has been named captain of the touring side and will also lead the side in the showpiece event in June.

Australia will be back to full strength squad comprising Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, Travis Head and Steve Smith, who missed the home T20Is against West Indies earlier this month.

On the other hand, New Zealand will be without in-form Kane Williamson, who will miss the series as he is expecting the birth of his third child, and all-rounder Daryl Mitchell has been ruled out owing to an injury.

For the first time in the bilateral cricketing history of the trans-Tasman rivalry, the T20I series has been included as the part of Chappell-Hadlee Trophy, previously awarded to the winners of the ODI series winners between the neighbouring countries.

Australia have an edge over the Blackcaps in the T20Is with 10 wins over New Zealand's five wins. In T20Is played between both sides in New Zealand, the visitors have won six matches while the hosts have only won three games.

Australia are coming after the 2-1 home T20I series win against West Indies while New Zealand outclassed Pakistan 4-1 in the five-match T20I series last month.

In the recently concluded two-match Test series against depleted South Africa, New Zealand registered their historic first red-ball series win after winning both matches by hefty margins.
