PBKS vs MI IPL 2025 Qualifier 2: Punjab Kings will face Mumbai Indians during the 2nd Qualifier of IPL 2025. Although the Punjab-based franchise will aim to inch closer to lifting their first trophy by qualifying for the summit clash, MI is eyeing their record sixth title, a milestone which hasn't been yet achieved.

Both the teams failed to qualify for the playoffs during IPL 2024 and ended in the last few positions of the points table and that is why none of the teams would want to waste this opportunity of lifting the title.

The Punjab-based franchise was the runners-up during IPL 2014, whereas the Hardik Pandya-led side hasn't failed whenever they have qualified for the finals. Whichever team would win on Sunday would then lock horns with Royal Challengers Bengaluru during the summit clash, which will be held on Tuesday.

Before the high-octane clash between two formidable sides, let's take a look at some of the key battles to watch out for:

Suryakumar Yadav vs Arshdeep Singh

The battle between Mumbai's star batter and Punjab's best bowler will be the one to watch out for during the upcoming clash. Suryakumar Yadav is the second-highest run-scorer in the ongoing season and if gets out cheaply then it would be a huge relief for the Punjab-based franchise. Suryakumar has scored just 42 runs off 35 balls against Arshdeep Singh and has gotten out two times at a strike rate of just 120.

Prabhsimran Singh vs Jasprit Bumrah

The star fast bowler can give a hard time to any batter in this world and Prabsimran, who is PBKS' star batter this year but hasn't scored many runs in the last four matches, might struggle while facing Bumrah. Prabsimran has batted against him just one time this year and got out for a two-ball duck and the way Bumrah dismissed Washington Sundar on Friday, then Prabsimran would try to be cautious while facing him.

Tilak Varma vs Vijaykumar Vyshak

This is a very unusual key battle but as per numbers, Tilak hasn't really performed well against Vyshak. MI's star batter last played a brilliant knock way back in April and if the PBKS bowlers can dismiss the top 3 batters early and play mind games with Tilak, then it would be a huge boost for them. Tilak has scored just five runs off as many balls against Vyshak since the last two editions and was also dismissed once and that too at a strike rate of 100.

Shreyas Iyer vs Trent Boult

The PBKS captain has been in sublime form this year and although he couldn't score much during their last two matches, he would aim to put his best foot forward during the 2nd Qualifier. And one of the biggest challenges for him would be facing Trent Boult. Since the last four years, he has scored just 56 runs off 44 balls against the fast bowler and was also dismissed once but he bats at just the strike rate of 127 against Trent Boult.
