PBKS vs RR, IPL 2024: Rajasthan Royals won the toss and opted to bowl first against Punjab Kings in match 27 at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur on Saturday, April 13.

Rajasthan had to make two forced changes as their key players Ravichandran Ashwin and Jos Buttler missed out.

RR skipper Sanju Samson revealed the reason for their absence and confirmed their replacements in the playing XI.

"Jos isn't 100%, Ash bhai is having a niggle, so Rovman and Tanush Kotian come into the XI," Samson said at the toss.

Notably, RR suffered their first defeat of this season in their last match against Gujarat Titans.

"We've made a target to not think about the goal, focus on the process, work on building the team and we're doing well. A lot of challenges outside as well," Samson added while aiming to return back to the winning ways.

Ashwin had taken just one wicket in the first matches but was instrumental in his bowling partnership with fellow spinner Yuzvendra Chahal due to his economical figures.

On the other hand, Buttler started his IPL 2024 campaign on a disappointing note but picked up the momentum with a century against Royal Challengers Bengaluru.

He has scored 43 runs at an average of 35.75, including a century, helping the RR side to remain at the top of the table.

In a hilarious instance at the toss, Samson forgot to mention the name of Tanush Kotian for a while, who is making his IPL debut.

However, he ended up sharing his name in the end.
