PBKS vs RR, IPL 2024: Sanju Samson executed a brilliant fielding effort that resulted in an incredible run out during the match between Punjab Kings and Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2024 on Saturday, April 13.

Samson's impactful presence of mind helped Rajasthan get the better of dangerous Liam Livingstone who could have created problems for them in the death overs with his enormous power-hitting ability.

The instance took place in the 18th over of Punjab's batting when Ashutosh Sharma hit the fifth delivery towards the leg side off Yuzvendra Chahal's bowling.

Livingstone wanted to give the strike back to Ashutosh as he thought there was a double on offer.

While Ashutosh denied the call for the double, RR's Tanush Kotian came up with a quick throw but a bit away from skipper Sanju Samson.

Samson did well to dive a bit away from the stumps to collect the ball and hit the stumps in one motion to dismiss Livingstone.

The RR captain was quick to applaud Kotian for his crucial throw.

While Livingstone was dismissed for 21 runs in 14 balls, Punjab Kings posted a total of 147/8 in their 20 overs after being put into bat first.

Ashutosh put up yet another brilliant effort for Punjab towards the end as he smashed 31 runs in just 16 balls on the back of a boundary and three sixes to take his team to a challenging total.

Punjab Kings headed into the game on the back of a defeat in their previous fixture and the absence of regular skipper Shikhar Dhawan only added to their problems.

While Dhawan missed out due to a niggle, Sam Curran was named the stand-in captain who himself scored just six runs in 10 deliveries.

Keshav Maharaj was the pick of the bowlers for Rajasthan as he took two wickets for just 23 runs in his four overs with Avesh Khan also ending up with two scals.

On the other hand, Trent Boult, Kuldeep Sen and Yuzvendra Chahal provided impactful support and picked up a wicket each.
