Indian pacer Prasidh Krishna wasn't named in the squad for the squad for the Test series against England at home as he wasn't available for selection due to an injury.
Prasidh picked up a left quadriceps injury on the first day of Karnataka's Ranji Trophy 2023-24 match against Gujarat in Ahmedabad on Friday.
India will be hosting England for a five-match Test series which begins on January 25 with the first match scheduled to be played in Hyderabad.

The pace bowler was seen limping off the field after bowling 14.5 overs, during which he picked up the wickets of Manan Hingrajia and Siddharth Desai as Karnataka bowled Gujarat for 264 in 88 overs.
As per a report from PTI, Prasidh will no longer take part in the match as quadriceps injuries generally take between four and six weeks to heal, depending on the intensity.
Prasidh is currently under the care of the Karnataka team physio but as a BCCI-contracted player, he can also link up with the India A support staff, who are also in Ahmedabad for the two-day match against the touring England Lions.

The 27-year-old recently made his debut for India in the Test format on the South Africa tour after a long break due to a lumbar stress fracture.
It is to be noted that he had a disappointing outing with the ball against South Africa, picking up just two wickets in the two-match Test series that ended with a result of 1-1.
With an average of 65, he was the most expensive Indian bowler across two matches, leaking runs at an economy rate of 4.64.
Talking about India's squad for England Tests, the hosts included Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, Mukesh Kumar, and Avesh Khan as the frontline pacers for the first two Tests whereas Mohammed Shami is still recovering from his ankle injury.
The first two Tests will be played in Hyderabad (January 25-29) and Visakhapatnam (February 2-6), before the teams move to Rajkot (February 15-19), Ranchi (February 23-27) and Dharamsala (March 7-11).
