Ranji Trophy 2025: Post cutting all ties with Mumbai, ex-India cricketer Prithvi Shaw will be representing Maharashtra during the upcoming domestic season. Before the Ranji Trophy 2025, Shaw played in a warm-up match against Mumbai, where he smashed a ton.

He brought up his century off just 140 balls. He achieved the milestone by taking just one run on the first ball of the sixth over, which was bowled by Shardul Thakur.

He opened the innings with Arshin Kulkarni, and they had built a partnership of 305 runs for the first wicket. Kulkarni had scored 186 runs off 140 balls. Shams Mulani took his wicket on the 4th ball of the 50th over.

Arshin was trying to go big in Mulani's over, but Musheer Khan took the catch.

Shaw then scored a brilliant knock of 116 runs.

Shaw’s record in first-class cricket

He has played in 58 first-class matches till now and has scored 4456 runs under his belt. He had smashed 13 hundreds and 18 half-centuries in this format, and his highest score is 379 runs.

He made his first-class debut against Tamil Nadu way back in 2017 and smashed 120 runs during the 2nd innings.

He has also played in five Test matches for India. He made his debut in the longest format against the West Indies way back in 2018 and scored 134 runs during the first innings.

He had become the youngest Indian batter to score a ton in his debut match.

Maharashtra’s Ranji Trophy 2025-26 schedule

Maharashtra will lock horns with Kerala during their tournament opener on October 15 and will then play against Chandigarh in their next match. They will face teams like Aurashtra, Karnataka, Punjab, Goa, and Madhya Pradesh as well.
