RCB vs PBKS IPL 2025 Final: Two Legendary players of the Royal Challengers Bengaluru-Virat Kohli and Ab De Villiers were seen meeting each other in Ahmedabad, just a few minutes before the summit clash as they were seen embracing each other. The Bengaluru-based franchise is featuring in their first summit clash after nine years, and is facing Punjab Kings, as the ongoing season will have a new champion on Tuesday night.
And just a few minutes after the toss, Kohli was seen walking towards De Villiers, who is part of the broadcasting duties. They were seen giving each other a warm hug and then Kohli uttered a few words in De Villiers' ears.
But the image of the incident had gone viral on social media where an injured Tim David was there in the background, who was ruled out from the playing XI of the summit clash. The star all-rounder had sustained a hamstring injury during the group stage clash against SRH and that's why he also didn't play during RCB's last group stage match against LSG and also during the 1st Qualifier against the Punjab-based franchise. Even though RCB's team management was hoping that he would recover well in time as they had a five-day break for the summit clash, he couldn't recover.

PBKS opted to bowl first
PBKS skipper Shreyas Iyer had become the second captain to have led the team to the summit clash and thus won the toss and chose to bowl first. He made an unusual decision and was contrary to what has been witnessed at this venue as whichever team has batted first has usually won matches. But the overcast conditions in Ahmedabad made Iyer bowl first since he made the same decision during the 2nd Qualifier clash against MI, which PBKS won.
"Only want to give positive signs to my mind and body. It's an amazing day. The crowd is electrifying. All we have to do is come here and cherish. Boys are in brilliant shape and mindset. All we spoke about in the team meeting is the more calm you are, the better. Nerves are fine. I won't say it's just like another game. It's the final and we're going to play like a final. Tremendous feeling just thinking about lifting the trophy," Shreyas Iyer was heard saying at the time of the toss.
Both the teams fielded an unchanged playing XI for the summit clash.
