Rishabh Pant's road to recovery is set to gain speed as the swashbuckling wicketkeeper-batter is reportedly slated to start his rehabilitation program at the Board of Control for Cricket in India’s (BCCI) Centre of Excellence.

Pant's heroic effort in the fourth Test against England was spoiled by a heartbreaking injury that kept him sidelined for the remainder of the series. The swashbuckling batter had to retire hurt after he suffered a fractured foot when Chris Woakes' delivery struck him at Old Trafford.

According to a report by Cricbuzz, after the end of the England tour, Pant opted to stay back in the UK for a short period before returning to India a few days ago.

According to a report in Cricbuzz, “Pant is targeting India’s next home series against the West Indies in October for his comeback, and if that does not happen, the white-ball series against Australia in October-November seems a realistic possibility."

Pant is gearing up for a comeback, targeting India's two-Test series against the West Indies, starting from October 2.

Throughout his rehabilitation, Pant has been posting on his social media about his journey, keeping his fans engaged and informed.

One of his recent posts read: "Just wanna tell you one thing which I understand is it doesn't matter how much pain you endured in the past, if you get hurt again it pains the same for sure, just the threshold goes up and you know the process to keep pushing yourself. So being positive is massive, motivating yourself works a lot. Keep trusting yourself and keep working in the direction you wanna take your life because what doesn't kill you, makes you stronger eventually (sic)."
