Smriti Mandhana got a heartfelt surprise as her fiancé, well-known singer Palash Muchhal, proposed to her at the DY Patil Stadium, where India defeated South Africa in the Women's World Cup final earlier this month. Mandhana played a key role in India's maiden WC triumph, but now the star opener is all set to unfold a new chapter in her life.
In a video that Palash posted, he can be seen guiding Smriti to the middle of the field and giving her the biggest surprise of all, a ring. As he posted the touching video, captioning it with the words, "She said yes."
Mandhana was blindfolded when Palash took her to the centre of the field at Mumbai's DY Patil Stadium at the start of the video. When she eventually takes off the blindfold, her longtime boyfriend is kneeling and asking her to marry him. Smriti accepts the proposal with joy and enthusiasm. Shortly after, friends of Palash and Smriti rush to the middle of the field to join them and celebrate the momentous occasion.

Hardik Pandya's ex-wife Natasa Stankovic reacted to the video of Palash proposing Smriti. "Omg omg congratulations you guysss," she commented on Palash's Instagram post.
On Sunday, November 23, Smriti and Palash are set to tie the knot. In a heartfelt letter of congratulations sent to the celebrity couple on Thursday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also wished them well.
Earlier, Smriti announced the engagement with a playful video, which also featured her India teammates Jemimah Rodrigues and Radha Yadav, among others. In the video posted to her Instagram site, the left-handed opener showed off her engagement ring. Earlier this month, Palash was spotted supporting Smriti and the Indian women's team in the World Cup final versus South Africa.
The year 2025 has been a very successful one for Mandhana's cricketing career as well. The left-handed batter achieved multiple batting milestones, having scored 434 runs in nine matches in the World Cup. In a crucial league match, she also scored an unforgettable century against New Zealand.
