Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma Fall To Grade B In BCCI's Central Contract List; Shubman Gill, Jasprit Bumrah In A Category

BCCI's Central Contract List: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Monday announced Annual Player Contracts for Team India Senior Men and Senior Women for the 2025-26 season, with batting bigwigs Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma getting demoted to Grade B.

Only three players – Jasprit Bumrah, Shubman Gill, and Ravindra Jadeja – have made the cut in the elite Grade A category after the BCCI scrapped the A+ category and elevated Grade A to the top tier.

India's T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav is among the 11 players in Category B of the BCCI's annual contract list, alongside KL Rahul, Hardik Pandya, Mohammed Siraj, Rishabh Pant, Kuldeep Yadav, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Shreyas Iyer, with Kohli and Rohit also in the same category.

Category C features Axar Patel, Sanju Samson, Arshdeep Singh, and Ruturaj Gaikwad, alongside others like Rinku Singh, Shivam Dube, and Prasidh Krishna.

Veteran pacer Mohammed Shami, who has been out of the international scene for a long time, was excluded from the BCCI's annual contract list, ending his tenure as a contracted player. Shami last played for India in the 2025 Champions Trophy final.
